Welcome to the Blue Lotus, a cottage in lovely Kennett Square! Voted 5th coolest town in the U.S. and is home to Longwood Gardens. A quick walk downtown makes it easy to enjoy the local food, coffee and culture. The Blue Lotus has just been completely renovated & has lovely furnishings, hardwood floors in the main space, a new kitchen, laundry & bathroom. You'll love the intimacy of this space. Great for couples, solo adventurers, & business travelers.

Good to know

The Blue Lotus has been completely renovated & tastefully decorated. The cottage is a few steps from our house. The bed is very comfortable according to all our guests, the space is general serene and peaceful except for a few clucks from our hen house! Great workspace, Crate & Barrel sectional sofa, Pottery Barn Sleigh Iron Bed, Quartz countertops & brand new stainless appliances in kitchen. Laundry room, Spacious bathroom with sliding glass tiled shower, beautiful flooring.

The front door locks automatically so keep the code with you. Roku TV - let us know if you need help. Please take a look in the closets & all the drawers so you are familiar with where all the essentials & extras are. Feel free to call us or text us as well. There's a switch next to the kitchen counter for the garbage disposal & an overhead light. There is both a drip coffee machine and a Nespresso with pods and frother. Laundry pods provided & dishwasher tablet starter set provided. We do have a cot for a 2nd or 3rd sleeper but we only bring it over if it is requested in advanced and the extra guest is approved. We are embedded in our community and would love to fill you in on the area!

- Use coasters on all surfaces with beverages. - Cookware - please follow care instructions: LOW heat/NO COOKING SPRAY -Keep gate closed to the fence so that dogs do not get out. - Be mindful of the cottage, main house and surrounding properties. Please leave all as you found it. - Do not move furniture to avoid scratching the hardwood floors. - Electric Breaker Panel is located behind the large yellow framed art if you need to access it. - For checkout: Leave all used linens in a pile in the laundry room floor, throw out all food & leave the refrigerator as you found it, put all trash in a white trash bag in front of the cottage. Wash all dishes before leaving. Leave it as you found it.

Guest Access

Gravel Parking space right next to cottage. You can walk in to town thru our back fenced in area (just make sure the gate is securely closed) and we are happy to help you get your bearings. There's a parking garage in town that's super accessible. Parking meters work with the Passport parking app.

The cottage feels comfortable and is ideal for a single or a couple. Everything you need with a well stocked kitchen. Every window offers a green view. The location is peaceful and quiet.

A wonderful place to call home for a few days while we visited family in Kennett Square and Chadds Ford. Easy access to Longwood Gardens (gorgeous even on rainy days), Brandywine Museum of Art, restaurants/shops, etc. Joelle and Peter were very responsive hosts who provided a well-kept space, perfect for our quick getaway: A clean, safe, cozy retreat set in a quiet, convenient neighborhood. Definitely hope to book this again the next time we're in the area!

Very comfortable and functional space in a great location. Quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac; a short walk to the center of Kennett Square, and easy access to Route 1 for Longwood Gardens & Brandywine museum. Easy to find and parking right outside the door. Very comfortable bed & couch. We used the kitchen for heating up meals from Talula's & Nomadic Pies. Plenty of kitchen & eating supplies. Also both Nespresso & drip coffee makers. We look forward to staying at Joelle & Peter's Blue Lotus Cottage the next time we're staying in Kennett Square.

This place is an oasis. If you're looking to get away from the hectic pace of life, this is the place. I loved every moment of my visit here - it's quiet, peaceful, sunny, comfortable, beautiful, and had everything I might have possibly needed to relax and enjoy my time here. The hosts are responsive and helpful. The whole home was warm and toasty even when it was 6 degrees outside in the middle of winter. I'm definitely staying here again.

The first thing we look for is cleanliness. Joelle's place was spotless. It was obvious the place has been taken care of quite well. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the bathroom was large and clean, and parking was easy. The little touches, including coffee and treats, were nice. We've already told friends about this place and plan to stay here on future trips to the area.

After 2 weeks of traveling in Europe this was my wonderful wind down & relaxation time whilst visiting previous friends & neighbors in the area I used to live. Blue Lotus is so relaxing, whilst also surrounded by beautiful Chester County countryside & all it has to offer. Kennett Square itself is walkable & has lots to offer. Fabulous restaurants. Great place in the heart of Kennett Square. Quiet and clean. Walkable to main area shops and restaurants. I stayed there while working at an equine hospital and it was exactly as she described- easy 10 minute drive. Will definitely stay again!
